My hot take about "Bluesky isn't decentralized" is that saying there's "thousands of PDSes" is *technically* true but making it look much better than it really is, and that Mastodon people actually have a lot of point in that specific point that only a very small % of users are self hosted right now

If anyone's interested (about the PDS list): - basic data about tracked accounts like assigned handle/PDS are updated ~live from PLC - the full rescan of which PDSes are live and which accounts still exist takes several hours, so I run it weekly RE:
