Kamala Harris lost last year’s US presidential election because she chased the wrong voters with the wrong message, (courting moderate Republicans over motivating core Democratic working-class, young and progressive voters), ultimately demobilising the very base that she needed to win, according to an autopsy by a progressive grassroots advocacy group. And this is the same playback nearly all the mainstream candidates are repeating now, as they fight for the Dem Presidential nomination, incl Newsom, Pritzker, Whitmer, Shapiro, Buttigieg.

They'd have to do far more than reverse. They'd have to purge govt of all the fascists and billionaires & rewrite laws & establish new protocols to prevent this from happening again. Otherwise, the Overton window keeps moving further and further to the right, with future Dems to the right of Trump

But also lower poverty rates, paid family leave, paid vacation (sometimes more than 4 weeks/year), and numerous other safety net services that not only directly improve the quality of life, but also reduce chronic stress and the overproduction of the stress hormone, Cortisol, which, when chronically overproduced can indirectly lower life expectancy by increasing the risk of heart attacks, stroke, diabetes and cancer.

Today in Labor History December 12, 1945: The U.S. Army Military Government (USAMG), which occupied and controlled the southern half of the Korean peninsula from 9/8/45-8/15/48, outlawed the People’s Republic of Korea, which was occupied by the USSR. The USAMG banned strikes and opposition movements and starved civilians, leading to a deadly cholera outbreak and exacerbating popular discontent. Less than a year later, the Communist Party organized a General Strike. Deadly repression against the strikers further worsened discontent, leading to the Daegu and Jeju uprisings, in which thousands of workers were slaughtered by Korean forces, directed by U.S. advisors. Today in Labor History December 12, 1941: Hitler declared the imminent extermination of the Jews at a secret meeting in the Reich Chancellery. The declaration came soon after the U.S. had declared war on Germany, eliminating the possibility of keeping the U.S. out of the war by using the Jews as hostages. The meeting marked a shift from propaganda and pogroms to outright planned annihilation.
