Google’s methods are opaque enough that I’d hesitate to draw any particularly strong conclusions, but opening a Private Browsing window and searching for “Can my husband …” and “Can my wife …” certainly produces some striking contrasts in the autocompletes.
One thing I appreciate about Apple product videos is they way that, when they focus on the usefulness of their laptops for research, they really get the details of my life as an academic researcher just right. Like when I am writing my jellyfish paper in the lab filled with jellyfish, and other random fish, and test tubes, and mood lighting, and am looking for just the right jellyfish and/or blue whale illustration to drop in my paper. image
