Today is the International Day of Persons with Disabilities ♿ On social media, it's important that we consider how disabled people interact with their digital community and make their voices heard. Something as simple as adding ALT text to your images, or being mindful of ableist language, can help disabled people feel more welcome in this space. Today is the first ever WebSocialBR 🇧🇷 Online and on the ground in Brasília, the event has been put together by @npub1x6uj...5f7h We've recently been working with the Brazilian Institute of Museums who will be in attendance and talking about our work together. Recently, we were asked why we, a knowledge & community focused charity, were posting to celebrate cultural and religious holidays. We believe that the Social Web has the potential to be the most diverse space on the entire web. But to get there, we have to start simple. We aren't experts.
