Has anybody had any luck speeding up Django tests with pytest-xdist? On a single core, the test suite takes about 67s to complete, but regardless of the number of cores I set with xdist, it doesn't finish faster than 60s. ./manage.py test --parallel can finish in less than 20s.
It's easy for an unexpected network request to sneak past your mocks. In a new blog post I show how a Pytest fixture helped me find these sneaky requests and how it will hopefully catch future ones too. 🤞
Has anybody seen a Fatal Python error: Aborted error when running pytest? It seems to come from https://socket.py but we haven't been able to reproduce outside of pytest. It's sporadic and very hard to reproduce consistently. Any ideas on how to debug this? image
