What will happen to the idea of protocol based social media if other countries adopt the UK style OSA? Is it illegal to release open source social media software because you can’t keep UK users under 18 from downloading and running it? What about non-Bluesky PBC ATprotocol clients / servers?
OAuth was originally a 6 page spec that you could implement from scratch in a single sitting of coding. This sounds terrible, but have you ever looked at what they do right now to folks applying for a tourist or business visa from one of these countries. I don't endorse it, or the idea of borders at all, but honestly it might make the process MORE accessible. RE:
