The Consequences of Remaining Silent. Maybe there's a cause you're passionate about, but you don't want to speak what's on your heart because you're concerned it will cause division among your friend group. Maybe you stay silent and hope someone else will speak what you're feeling. Maybe you don't believe your voice matters. I've been in each of these scenarios, and I think we've all experienced some degree of resistance to saying what we're feeling. I read the short sentence below this morning in an email and it jumped off the screen at me. "Silence now means regret later". The next time we find ourself in a situation where we remain silent when our conscious is telling us to speak, remember the sentence above, and the future consequences of remaining silent. image
