🚨 One year after first raising the alarm, @EDRi, Access Now, and 16 other civil society organisations have sent a second letter urging the European Commission to urgently reassess Israel’s adequacy status under the #GDPR. Since the Commission reconfirmed Israel’s status in January 2024, the situation has only worsened ❌ The letter outlines six concerns linking Israel’s data practices to escalating #HumanRights violations in #Gaza and the #WestBank. In November 2023, @EDRi, @npub1d2az...gtj2, Access Now, ARTICLE 19, and @npub1gqyj...gvf8 filed a complaint against the French decree implementing the EU regulation addressing the dissemination of 'terrorist content' online. ❌ This regulation is incompatible with the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights ❌ On Monday, the French supreme administrative court rejected our arguments and refused to refer the case to the Court of Justice of the European Union.
