It's good to recognize that sometimes we get stuck in our feelings. We can assume that some sort of insult or slight was made against us, and because we can be so stuck, we refuse to see the other side. To me, one of the most important skills one can have, is to be able to stop and recognize when we are wrong, or that "being right" isn't worth the aggravation. Instead of doubling down ask yourself "Could I be wrong? Is this feeling justified or am I just stuck?" It might save a friendship.

Damn it I got tricked into doing a load of laundry today. Daughter got new sheets and wants that “new sheet smell” out of them. Ah well. I’m sure I’ll find something to do while I attend to the washer.

It's sad that I'm seeing less CW or hashtag usage for those who struggle with things like... Direct Eye Contact. Food. Drugs. Politics. Sexual abuse. and more. Even by people who used to CW or hashtag these things. One of the things that made Mastodon what it is today was the willingness of the people to protect those around them to feel like this was a safe place to be. To those who still do, thank you. For those that don't, or simply stopped, please reconsider. Kindness is medicine.

Remember when we used to have to remind each other for a month to not put the wrong year on this years checks? Anyone remember checks?

Here's to no Windows in 2025! 🍸 Still going Linux strong. Not quite a year yet since I dumped Windows, just a few more months. But 2025 will definitely be a Windows free year, as well as all of the years after it. Mint has been exceeding my expectations. Sure I've had to learn a few things, but it hasn't been hard because there are plenty of resources out there to help. Seriously. If you don't use any apps that are exclusive to Windows, consider trying Linux Mint. It's so liberating.
