Becoming a chain filled with shitcoins and useless data was never the goal, never the revolution.
Data is safer and more private on a protected server under your own control.
If the monetary maximalists abandon the project, it will die, the network will lose security, and your jpegs will be worthless.
For all the hype, primal doesn't work that good (for me). Perhaps it's me, but it takes forever, and sometimes never loads notifications. The same is true when posting; sometimes it works, other times it does not.
My pinned tweet on X:
"Regardless of price, protect bitcoin."
Bitcoin is a monetary network that volunteers support by running nodes, contributing code, educating, hodling, spending, and so on.
The social layer of bitcoin is important. For me, I am against spam on the network and believe we should take action to make our desires known. I will not be upgrading my core node and will continue to run my knots node at the office.
I understand the argument that if one miner with a reasonable amount of hash is willing to include spam, it could end up in the chain. Regardless of this, we should not condone abuse of the network.
Jack has said apathy is one of the biggest risk to bitcoin, I agree. If bitcoin fails as money, I am certain the world will bitcoin will die from lack of interest.
Is TOR a success? I consider an absolute failure. Despite the tech, which is questionable at best and probably infiltrated by FEDS, TOR is a failed project. NOBODY uses it routinely.
I don't want bitcoin to suffer be relegated to the dark, remote corner of the internet. A dead project, blocks that nobody cares about.
If you want to store data, buy 3 hard drives, separate them geographically. Data storage is not an issue, MONEY IS! We need to win, we must win.
Filters aren't 100%, and I am sure many core developers are wonderful people, but at this moment, I have lost some degree of confidence. We need more developers working on knots. We need to work to decentralize mining. We need more node runners.
If you support core, that is fine. I am glad you are fighting for bitcoin, but I'm on the other team. The team that wants bitcoin be a peer to peer monetary network that cannot be stopped.
When compliant blocks were being mined, we pressured the miner into stopping this violence against OUR NETWORK.
We can do the same with spam, but we must show resolve.
Protect bitcoin, regardless of price. If we fail to protect bitcoin, we go to zero.
Stream of ideas, post not edited.
Where are we at with NOSTR based markets? I used lnbits some time ago to create a market but things never really worked out. Probably my fault, but any new markets or a place I can go to create a market?
What is the current "best?"
