the funeral rites of the Scythian people according to Herodotus the historian.
After burying a loved one, they would build a small felt tent, place glowing stones from a fire in the tent, go in and close the flap. They would then throw seeds from a plant they also used to make clothing, called hemp, onto to hot stones. they would do this until the smoke in the tent was so thick they couldnβt see. at which point they would howl and laugh hysterically until their joy was restored.
thinking alot about the Greek city/state model, and the trade networks they established between them. and how many of them were in other countries with other governments they essentially ignored.
