While driving around today, it was my wish to hear a song by Frank Zappa on the car radio (this is exceedingly rare, but it HAS happened, usually a jazz station playing Peaches en Regalia).
The next best thing than can happen actually did happen: Smoke On The Water by Deep Purple came on. This is a song ABOUT Zappa losing all his music equipment in a fire on the shore of Lake Geneva, because of "some stupid with a flare gun."
True story. Zappa also got attacked on stage 10 days later in London. It was a rough tour.
Happy 85th birthday, Frank!
