I've been seeing some discourse about Pixar being cooked for over-relying on the CalArts style of generic, round rubbery characters but I didn't take a side. After watching K-pop Demon Hunters... I agree? I think what was most clear from the movie was that Sony Animation is having fun. Like The Mitchells vs The Machines and Spider-verse, you can sense the foundation of play in the craft in Sony's animated films.

Celebrated 17 years of marriage to this wonderful woman yesterday. “Lucky” is the only emotion I can describe it. Lucky she was okay dating someone who was homeless at the time. Lucky she said yes to my proposal even tho I made a big stink about not buying blood diamonds. Lucky she puts up with my decades of bad ideas, general laziness, and at the same time my workaholism. We’re getting older but the love still feels young.

I turned 45 last week and the only actual present I got was from my 75yo dad: A pair of slip-in Sketchers that he likes. I don't think I have ever received a gift that embodied my lifestyle so perfectly.
