There's only one word for the act of indiscriminately setting off 1,000's of explosives in the midst of a civilian population: #Terrorism And if this act was perpetrated by a state actor and with the approval of a democratic government that you helped vote in office, you might then ponder the question: "Was this really done in my name??"
On #SocialHub @npub1t5c9...ppw4 started the thread "Desired changes for a future revision of #ActivityPub and #ActivityStreams" to collect feedback on this subject.
Hi @Hrefna (DHC) I just a FYI on a federation protocol "heavily inspired by ActivityPub" which I just bumped into via @Erlend Sogge Heggen .. didn't have a deep look yet, but thought it might be interesting given your own musings re:FeatherPub.
It is sad that apparently most #EU people can't be bothered to take a minute to sign the #Petition to #TaxTheRich and it looks like the treshold will not be reached. https://eci.ec.europa.eu/038/public/#/screen/home/allcountries
> β€œBut we are seeing a great fragmentation of society, really caused by the economic theory that we’re operating under of neoliberalism, where everything is a commodity,” he [psychiatrist prof Patrick McGorry] said. > This global emphasis on individualism and competition is destroying social bonds, eroding public welfare and services and is empowering harmful industries and corporations, he said.
I see a lot of talk about "privilege" as if in disgust of those having "spare time" to help others. And I get it. Privilege is stacked in layers. From the low state of lying in a ditch dying, up and up, right to Mars where billionaires live. Was I privileged when I quit job, started doing community work? Hell yes! Frugal lifestyle saw me some savings in the bank, most now gone. From then on I was also sacrificing. Burning privilege at the altar of the Commons to shed my sins of individualism.
