Just a reminder that Brendan Carr wrote a chapter of Project 2025, even though that violates the law which prohibits gov't officials from using their positions for political advocacy like that. [www.techdirt.com/2024/07/23/f...]( ) RE: [FCC’s Carr Wrote A ‘Project 20...]( )
This is an embarrassing misunderstanding of Murthy, which DID NOT green light the FCC's actions at all, and in fact *reinforced* the idea that coercion over speech is not allowed. It just said you had to actually have standing to make that claim, and the plaintiffs there didn't. RE:
He made the Albania mistake elsewhere recently as well (and his latest target, Seth Meyers, mocked him for confusing Albania and Armenia). Now he's still making that mistake and pushing to get Meyers canceled. RE:
He can't even stick with the pretext they cooked up as to why Kimmel had to go, huh? RE: View quoted note →

For the morning crew... I am very bad at asking for support for my work but if you're out there looking for media that isn't caving to nonsense and is calling it out... 👋 RE: View quoted note →
Don't want to say I called it, but... you know... sometimes I know what I'm talking about. [www.techdirt.com/2024/11/27/b...]( ) [Brendan Carr Makes It Clear Th...]( )

Taibbi did post a short article about it, but seems mostly upset about the optics of it. This is WAY WAY different than his response to the Biden admin asking Twitter if it had policies in place to deal with vaccine disinfo, which he described as one of the worst attacks on free speech in history. Seeing lots of people talking about canceling their Disney+ subscriptions. If you happen to have some extra money around that used to go to Mickey Mouse... small indie media sites like mine could always use some assistance. Especially these days.
