Absolutely agree. FWIW, one of our bathroom faucets broke last year, and my wife mentioned "I think that one had a lifetime guarantee" so I emailed the mfgr, and they said "yup, but we don't make that model any more: just pick one from the following list and we'll send you two." RE:
