A day later and I'm still thinking about this... RE: https://oyster.us-east.host.bsky.network/xrpc/com.atproto.sync.getBlob?did=did:plc:cak4klqoj3bqgk5rj6b4f5do&cid=bafkreifvrihogflbu6vaqg74qmndjjwqmyjwws44jk3rfndbwew4usvc74
Earlier this week, not today, but I will accept it as "a banger" RE:
Kinda feels like the US gov't didn't fuck up so much back before we got rid of DEI. RE:
Wait. This piece is even dumber than I thought. Literally two paragraphs before he says the problem is that "humans need to argue" he highlights people arguing on Bluesky... as if it's a bad thing. This piece isn't even internally consistent. Every couple months some mainstream columnist writes a piece claiming that people on Bluesky don't argue, and it immediately is clear that they've never actually spent any time here. RE:
Still feel like every story that talks about Davis's lobbying against tech should admit that his crusade against tech only started right after Google turned him down for a job where he wanted to be their "GOP whisperer." The DOJ has decided to weigh in in support of the idea that the "Trusted News Initiative" (an effort set up by the BBC with other news orgs and social media co's to figure out how best to deal with disinfo)... might be an antitrust violation. Turns out the conspiracy theories won't be put to bed that easily RE:
Whoa. So... it apparently when a user asks Grok something it's "customizing" by comparing the user's own post history AND ELON MUSK's (though it keeps that part quiet). RE:
This part is key. Having experienced lawsuits myself without that backup... and having talked to journalists at big news orgs who have been sued... it's a very, very different experience. It sucks to be sued, but being a part of a big org makes it much easier. RE:
