So, as a non-binary person, I no longer exist according to the US government. They are going to scrub any acknowledgement of our existence from their records. And in the decades to come, the children under "don't say gender" policies will not know we exist.... ...and that is when we become legend and myth! Cryptids spotted in passing but no one believes them! "Teacher teacher! I see someone who isn't just a woman or man!" "No you didn't, stop making things up, Billy." The government will deny we exist and there will be cover-ups. Late night radio shows will have people calling in and spreading rumors that we can teleport, that we're omens of the end-times, and that we're best friends with sasquatch. And they will tell tales of seeing us at the grocery store or the library to frighten the fascists at bed-time. MWUAHAHAHAHA

Question for #Punk #Music lovers: Have there been any actually good, innovative, or radical punk bands in the last decade headlined or made up of cis straight white men? I know cool emo punk bands fronted by BIPOC women, I find riot grrrl is alive and well in inspiring a new generation of fem-fronted bands, and I know a lot of trans and queer fronted punk bands that have made some of the most rebellious and radical music in the last decade...and I can't actually think of a punk band I'd say was "good" or doing something interesting fronted by cis straight white dudes. Maybe there are....but it seems weird for a genre that used to be dominated by them. I feel like even some of the older active ones I like (e.g. Bad Religion, Anti-Flag, etc.) haven't been bringing much new energy at a time when the world circumstances scream for good punk music. I'm assume there's gotta be some... 😅
