I have to wear many hats, like managing the @pixelfed account, and writing all the code. But as we go viral, I'm also having to deal with scalability issues, the media, a lot more support requests, and everything else. I appreciate your patience while I get things a bit more stable, and look forward to reaching 1M users next month. It's now Pixelfed season 🚀 #pixelfedszn

People are surprised that I'm able to handle moderation on Pixelfed.social and .art myself. In 7 years, we've had only 3k reports, and a majority of them are for spam. I guess you can say that photo sharing is less toxic than text based platforms, and it shows, just ask our community. But as we grow, we do need to establish a mod team and implement better safety features like Comment Controls They are coming, but let's appreciate this! Our community is nice to each other, real og IG vibes ✨

If someone told me pixelfed.social would overtake mastodon.social in MAU in early 2025, I wouldn't have believed them. This could happen in the next week or two, assuming the growth continues (no sign of slowing down). You love to see it! 🚀 #fediverse
