I get a lot of flack for the fact that Pixelfed is PHP and our apps are React Native.
But like Facebook is too. I don't see them switching to Rust or whatever the cool language is.
They just ship products that people like to use, and that's all that really matters.
PHP was the first fediverse language in 2008 with Laconica, and lives on 17 years later with Pixelfed.
