Whos building a federated TikTok and IG? Not them 😎

As a queer and indigenous developer, I've struggled with acceptance and hateful replies and even being called out for using the "yall" phrase. I hope my fellow cree and other indigenous devs don't have to face the same fate. While it can be hard sometimes, don't forget where you came from, and don't take no shit from anyone.

So many ppl want me to quit or otherwise not participate in the fediverse. Do you agree?

Like I've dedicated the past 7 years building fediverse tools and services, and evolving the fediverse. I started LitePub with kainiini in 2019, and experimented with Comment Controls and Groups. Some people compare me to Zuck, as if I want to sell everyone out, despite me turning down VC funding, and like even that isn't good enough. Someone that believes in the fediverse this much, and builds open source platforms, isn't looking for a VC exit What else can I do to prove my fedi dedication?

I love to be criticized by people who've literally done nothing to help the fediverse evolve Meanwhile I'm building @pixelfed, @loops, @npub1tv2c...0l3c, fediverse.info, pubkit.net, @npub1udzq...hjj8 and others. It just reminds me that I'm doing something right, because to upset this many people means I'm making progress, and when I've been wrong, I've admitted that and apologized accordingly. But instead of proving me wrong, I live rent-free in their head, because they never really cared. Or it would show.
