My favourite fediverse project isn't my own It's Smithereen by @npub1hnzw...8n6r Grishka is building a federated Facebook/VK alternative, and also happens to be the official Mastodon android developer (guess who helped him land that job) He is a very talented developer, and his project deserves way more attention!

Fediverse admins who are worried about Loops and storage/bandwidth, I will be reaching out to projects to see if we can work together on supporting origin streaming/HLS so servers don't need to duplicate remote media. #loops #loopsdev

Three of the biggest complaints are now fixed in the latest version: - You can upload any size/type of video, we now perform aggressive client side optimization, it may take a few minutes for large 4K videos - Following/For You feeds now remember exactly what video you were on if you navigate away and then back - Audio is unmuted even in silent mode (soon to be a non-default setting) #loops
