is it just me that highly prefer typescript's enums over string unions RE:

worth noting that the modern subset also means enums no work bloomberg seems to highly prefer string unions over enums
why are so many frontend projects unbothered by the fact that node.js typings are polluting their globals do people just treat typescript as a means to autocompletion rather than type checks
