Itβs very authentic and historical-sounding to refer to parliamentary constituencies as βridingsβ and I commend Canada for doing it.

Just noticed that in fact you could replace "the EU" with "Nick Clegg's career" and "World peace" with "Facebook" and this piece would work much better.

The only question is whether Clegg is cynically playing a long-expired Brussels insider card to try to re-establish himself in the UK or whether he has Clegg-pilled himself and actually believes this stuff.
