Henry David Thoreau did this in 1845. $62 in total expenditure (at the time), with a portion of that ($28.12, roughly $1,000 today) going towards his handmade cabin. Sure he strolled to town, and squatted on Emerson's land - But he lived frugally.
I wonder if Thoreau would be a bitcoiner in today's age...
