Rubber farmers in Thailand are increasingly adopting agroforestry as a more climate-friendly and sustainable way of cultivating the commodity, which ranks among the world’s largest drivers of tropical deforestation. Much of Thailand’s lowland tropical forests were cleared decades ago to make way for the booming rubber industry, transforming the landscape into a patchwork of monoculture plantations.
