Social media users have turned to chatbots for updates on the murder of U.S. right-wing activist Charlie Kirk — and have found contradictory and inaccurate responses. A day after 31-year-old Kirk's death, the X account of Perplexity said that he was still alive. The X account of Grok said that the widely circulated video of Kirk being shot was a "meme edit" with effects added "for comedic effect." Grok also claimed that a Toronto-based man was the shooter.
