Oh hi! I was Just thinking about what part of the country I should move to based on which coalition nation I'd rather be occupied by when this shitshow inevitably reaches its logical conclusion.

You know how in Titanic they spend half the movie showing you the entire length and breadth of the ship and all of its nooks and crannies in sumptuous detail, and then the last act is the process of slowly taking it all away, piece by piece, until there's just a single slab of wood, all the possibilities set up at the beginning collapsing into this one bleak immovable point?
For some reason I've been thinking about that a lot lately.
Wait, so you're telling me the powerful elites got behind some nutjob that they thought they could control only to find out that they in fact can't? If only there were some kind of historical precedent that could have warned them of this possibility.
As someone who has spent most of his life terrified by the possibility that someone somewhere might be mad at him, moderating a Mastodon instance has certainly been some excellent exposure therapy.
