fr though we've been trying to nail topic classification for almost 9 months now. I am overjoyed that it finally works.
We launched some updates to the Discover feed today. This likely won't affect existing users as much, but for new users it's a big improvement. Basically: the ML team managed to build an improved topic classifier, which means Discover is better at responding to selected interests.

Algorithmic Choice! This "For You" feed by [@spacecowboy17.bsky.social]( ) is what it's all about. You don't have to use Discover. Other people can make great algorithms. RE:

#dev FoundationDB seems excellent. I’m curious about the upper limits of auto shard rebalancing. I have to guess it’s a costly operation and it seems like something you should have to think about
Alex is awesome. I thought it would be hard to hand off product responsibilities, but it was the exact opposite. He's an incredibly empathetic leader with great vision for what to do with the app. I'm so happy he's joined us. RE:
