I know some educators follow me and I have a question for you: what are you doing about the use of LLMs for essays and assignments? In a world of "plagiarism checkers" and "humanizers", presumably it's very hard to prove that students haven't done the work that they are handing in. It must be fairly obvious though. Are there moves to change how students are assessed? Or have you all just given up? Have you started using LLMs to read and mark the "work" that students claim to have done?
There are many reasons why I've managed to get into the absurd situation where I get paid to talk to my friends about computers, but one of the most important ones (I think) is that I take the time to listen back to every episode before it is published. This adds time to the process, but it's worth it for so many reasons. If you make a podcast and can't be bothered to listen to it, why on earth would you expect anyone else to listen to it?
It's a bit weird that the everything device ended up being named after the one function that most people dread using.
@Liam @ GamingOnLinux 🐧🎮 your site is on this list but it's not blocked for me on Virgin or Three. Do you know anything about it?
Do you ever get the feeling that you're on the wrong side of the moment, but on the right side of history?

This an absolutely fascinating and compelling explanation of why 4:3 is becoming a more and more popular aspect ratio for videos on the Internet. We lost a decade to 9:16 vertical video that should have been 3:4.
Techbros who believe (or more likely just claim as part of the grift) that their "AI" will become sentient AGI real soon now™ are the equivalent of idiots like me claiming that my podcasts are works of art that can rival Shakespeare or Mozart. (my shows are mostly just a bunch of friends talking about computers and making dumb jokes)
The Large Hadron Collider first went live on 10 September 2008. 5 days later Lehman Brothers collapsed, we had a full-blown financial crisis, and all this started. It all goes back to the LHC. It's the only explanation for this darkest of all timelines.
A good day to bury bad news. 😬
