The "nerd" portion of Permanerd comes from years of computer repair, terminal use and web development. Today I came across a ridiculous bug in the bios of a cheap mini PC. The first thing I did when I got it was nuke windows and install Start9. Everything seemed fine until a reboot when I was getting all sorts of acpi errors during boot and it would not be able to get past them. After a lot of troubleshooting it turned out that it needed to have a USB keyboard attached to boot properly. Apparently the keyboard would hold up the boot process just long enough the error would be skipped over. I'm certainly no genius, but this was absurd to me. #wtf
