-THE BORACAY ISLAND LIFE-
Photographer Drew Gardner set out to recreate portraits of famous historical figures using their actual living descendants as models.
He spent months researching family lineages, verifying ancestry, and locating authentic descendants for each portrait.
With careful attention to detail, Gardner recreated period costumes, props, and lighting to match the original artworks as closely as possible.
The result is a striking visual comparison where the resemblance across generations creates a powerful connection between past and present.
It feels like history stepping out of the past and standing right in front of us.

On this day in 1971, Led Zeppelin IV was riding high in the Top 10 of the US album charts.
In 2006, the album was rated No.1 on Classic Rock magazine's '100 Greatest British Albums' poll, and No.1 in a poll conducted by Guitar World.
The album has now sold over 23 million copies in the US. The typeface for the lyrics to Stairway to Heaven, printed on the inside sleeve of the album, was Jimmy Page's contribution.
He found it in an old arts and crafts magazine from the late 19th century.
He thought the lettering was interesting and arranged for a designer to create a whole alphabet.
The man on the cover of Led Zeppelin IV is Lot Long, a Victorian-era thatcher from Mere, Wiltshire, England, identified in 2023 as the subject of a 1892 photograph by Ernest Howard Farmer, who was carrying a bundle of sticks, not a painting as once thought.

Chillon Castle stands on a small rock island, approximately 100 m long and 50 m wide, in a strategic position between the lake and the Alps.
The first chronicle mention of the castle as a residence of the Counts of Savoy dates back to 1160, although, according to some sources, the castle could have been founded even earlier, in the 9th century. During excavations in 1896, traces of Roman presence were found on this site - in particular, Roman coins.
During the reign of Count Peter II of Savoy, the castle was strengthened and expanded by the court architect Pierre Meunier. Active reconstruction of the castle continued until the 15th century. It was during this period that the main structures were erected, determining its historical appearance.
