"Sun Tzu's 7 Rules for Winning in Business", adapted from his ancient philosophy, which can be elaborated as follows:
1. Win Before You Compete: The core idea is to secure victory before engaging in direct conflict. This involves outmaneuvering competitors through innovation rather than engaging in price wars. Powerful moves include creating uncontested market spaces and building strategic partnerships.
2. Know Yourself & Your Enemy: Clarity is presented as the greatest weapon. Success requires relentless tracking of competitors and a clear understanding of one's own strengths and weaknesses. Data should guide every move to ensure informed decision-making.
3. Strike When Opportunities Arise: Timing is crucial in winning markets. Speed separates winners from followers, emphasizing the need to act before competitors can react.
4. Defend Your Position: It is vital to protect existing foundations before attempting expansion. Strong foundations enable safe and sustainable growth. A powerful move is to build systems that others cannot easily copy.
5. Plan and Prepare Thoroughly: Strategy is prioritized over mere speed. Thorough planning transforms uncertainty into success. This involves thinking in scenarios and reducing costly surprises.
6. Lead with Wisdom and Discipline: Consistency helps create winners. Strong leaders are those who build high-performing cultures. Leading by example and building trust through transparency are highlighted as powerful moves.
7. Stay Fluid & Adaptable: Rigidity can kill growth. Businesses must adapt quickly to market shifts. Powerful moves include experimenting often, pivoting with confidence, and learning faster than competitors.

On this day in 1990, the Divinyls single “I Touch Myself” debuted on the Australian charts at #77 (December 3)
The song from their self-titled LP eventually made it all the way to #1 in Australia.
When released in the United States, the song caused a minor controversy, but performed brilliantly, peaking at #4 on the US Billboard Hot 100 after receiving extensive play on modern rock radio, which was more accepting of the song's subject matter.
Divinyls are considered a bit of a “one-hit wonder” in the US, as "I Touch Myself" was their only US Top 40 hit.
It also went to #10 in the UK and #13 in Canada.
The I Touch Myself Project was launched in 2014, twelve months after the passing of Chrissy Amphlett to breast cancer.
Amphlett was passionate about spreading awareness of the importance of early detection and wanted the song to be adapted as an anthem for breast health around the world.
The Project was created in Chrissy’s honour with a mission to create educational forums to remind women to check their breasts regularly and to take action if there are any changes.
In 2018, Serena Williams recorded the song and posted her version on instagram. It became the most retweeted post, the most talked about campaign on Instagram and the most watched video during International Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
