🌊 SURF 'N TURF 🏝️ -THE BORACAY ISLAND LIFE- image Lao Tzu "Ordinary men hate solitude. But the Master makes use of it, embracing his aloneness, realizing he is one with the whole universe." "Lao Tzu, also rendered as Laozi and Lao-Tze, was an ancient Chinese philosopher and writer. He is the reputed author of the Tao Te Ching, the founder of philosophical Taoism, and a deity in religious Taoism and traditional Chinese religions. A semi-legendary figure, Lao Tzu is usually portrayed as a 6th-century BC contemporary of Confucius in the Spring and Autumn period. However, some modern historians consider him to have lived during the Warring States period of the 4th century BC. A central figure in Chinese culture, Laozi is claimed by both the emperors of the Tang dynasty and modern people of the Li surname as a founder of their lineage. Laozi's work has been embraced by both various anti-authoritarian movements and Chinese Legalism." 'Tao Te Ching' "Pure signal, no noise" Credits Goes to the respective Author ✍️/ Photographer📸 🐇 🕳️

The project marked a progression in the band's treatment of the album format as an artistic platform, an approach they continued to develop with “Revolver” and “Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band”. “Rubber Soul” was commercially successful, beginning a 42-week run on the UK Albums Chart on 12 December 1965. The following week it replaced the “Sound of Music” soundtrack at #1, where it remained for eight weeks in total. In the US, “Rubber Soul” topped the Billboard Top LPs chart on 8 January 1966, having sold 1.2 million copies there within nine days of release. These initial sales were unprecedented for an LP. It was also #1 in Australia and Germany. Some of the excellent songs from the album include “Drive My Car”, “Norwegian Wood”, “Michelle” and “Nowhere Man”. Rolling Stone ranked it #5 on the magazine's 2012 list "The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time". 🌊 SURF 'N TURF 🏝️ -THE BORACAY ISLAND LIFE- THE DOOMSDAY DJ: TUNES FOR THE POST APOCALYPSE Band on the Run is the third studio album by the British-American rock band Paul McCartney and Wings, released in November 30, 1973 (UK) and 5 December 1973 (US) by Apple Records. It was McCartney's fifth album after leaving The Beatles in April 1970. Although sales were modest initially, its commercial performance was aided by two hit singles - "Jet" and "Band on the Run" - such that it became the top-selling studio album of 1974 in the United Kingdom and Australia, in addition to revitalising McCartney's critical standing. It remains McCartney's most successful album and the most celebrated of his post-Beatles works. Singles from Band on the Run 1. "Helen Wheels" Released: 23 October 1973 2. "Jet" Released: 28 January 1974 3. "Band on the Run" Released: 8 April 1974 The album was mostly recorded at EMI's studio in Lagos, Nigeria, as McCartney wanted to make an album in an exotic location. Shortly before departing for Lagos, drummer Denny Seiwell and guitarist Henry McCullough left the group. With no time to recruit replacements, McCartney went into the studio with just his wife Linda and Denny Laine. McCartney therefore played bass, drums, percussion and most of the lead guitar parts. The studio was of poor quality and conditions in Nigeria were tense and difficult,; the McCartneys were robbed at knifepoint, losing a bag of song lyrics and demo tapes. After the band's return to England, final overdubs and further recording were carried out in London, mostly at AIR Studios. In 2000, Q magazine placed Band on the Run at number 75 in its list of the "100 Greatest British Albums Ever". In 2012, it was listed at 418 on Rolling Stone's revised list of "the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time". A contemporary review by Jon Landau in Rolling Stone described the album as being "with the possible exception of John Lennon's Plastic Ono Band, the finest record yet released by any of the four musicians who were once called the Beatles". It was McCartney's last album issued on the Apple record label. In 2013, Band on the Run was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame. 🌊 SURF 'N TURF 🏝️ -THE BORACAY ISLAND LIFE- THE DOOMSDAY DJ: TUNES FOR THE POST APOCALYPSE On this day in 1976, the Rod Stewart single “Maggie May” re-entered the UK Singles Chart (December 4) The song co-written by singer Rod Stewart and Martin Quittenton, and originally released in 1971 from his album “Every Picture Tells a Story”, was recorded in just two takes in one session. Drummer Micky Waller often arrived at recording sessions with the expectation that a drum kit would be provided and, for "Maggie May", it was – except that no cymbals could be found. The cymbal crashes had to be overdubbed separately some days later. The song was originally released as the B-side of the single "Reason to Believe", but soon radio stations began playing the B-side and "Maggie May" became the more popular side. Rod Stewart recalled: “At first, I didn't think much of "Maggie May." I guess that's because the record company didn't believe in the song. I didn't have much confidence then. I figured it was best to listen to the guys who knew better. What I learned is sometimes they do and sometimes they don't.” “Maggie May” has gone down as an all-time classic, peaking at #1 in the US (Stewart’s first in America), the UK, Australia, and Canada, #2 in Ireland, #3 in the Netherlands and New Zealand, #5 in Switzerland, and #11 in Germany. The 1976 UK re-release made it to #31. #rodstewart, #maggiemay, #everypicturetellsastory, #70smusic, #70srock, #dailyrockhistory, #onthisday, #thisdayinmusic, #rockhistory, #thisdayinrock, #rockmusic "Pure signal, no noise" Credits Goes to the respective Author ✍️/ Photographer📸 🐇 🕳️
🌊 SURF 'N TURF 🏝️ -THE BORACAY ISLAND LIFE- image The Ġgantija temples are the earliest of the Megalithic Temples of Malta and are older than the pyramids of Egypt. Their makers erected the two Ġgantija temples during the Neolithic, which makes these temples more than 5,500 years old and the world's second-oldest existing manmade religious structures after Göbekli Tepe. Yet somehow, they aligned these massive stones with mathematical precision, created multi-chamber layouts, and built walls over 6 meters high that still stand today. The name Ġgantija means "place of giants." No bodies were buried here. No signs of domestic life. Just massive structures, astronomical alignments, and mystery.
