After a steady climb up the charts, it peaked at #6 in the US for two weeks on March 17–24, 1973. Less than a week later, on March 29, Dr Hook’s wishes were granted. Sort of… It was a cartoon caricature rather than a photo, it was only Dennis Locorriere, Billy Francis, and Ray Sawyer pictured, rather than the whole band, and the cover didn’t actually mention Dr Hook and the Medicine Show, saying instead: “What’s-Their-Names Make The Cover”.
