I’m not a big fan of phone cases. And this was never an issue till @npub1amar...cwvh brought cats into my life. Since then every single device had one scratch. So I’m giving a dbrand skin and screen protector a shot. I already got glow in the dark skins on the MacBook (which needs to last for a decade or so) and iPad (which needs to last till I’m stupid enough to throw money at a foldable). On the phone the skin feels… strange. But so did it on the iPad the first few days.
I got a gift code from Kagi for 3 month free use. Ping if you want to check out a search engine that is worth the money.
Upgrading the Surface Go 2 from #Fedora 42 to 43 broke the installation. There was not a single package not base distribution. 5 Flatpaks installed. I’ll take the chance and throw universal blue on the system. This is the first Linux system upgrade in 20 years that broke something… usually I’m on Debian and Arch (and with Arch I know to check the release notes because it was the last system that broke during an upgrade).
I’m curious if we’ll soon not just see geo blocks on websites but also hardware level blocks for devices to be activated in the UK. Page 20, point 2… https://bills.parliament.uk/publications/63901/documents/7465
Theoretically I should have all parts to make my humidifier a smart humidifier over the holiday break. Maybe a good excuse to try Rust on an ESP32. Suggestions which #HomeAssistant enabled humidifier to order once I’m done with mine welcome.
We need more DisplayPort enabled devices. FireWire failed due to gate keeping. Thunderbolt surely isn’t a success thanks for the same reason. HDMI should fail for this reason even if it’s unlikely at this point.
