this recent obsession with music 'plagiarism ' is so weird since even in the 20th century people were copying and recording versions of songs so much. (can you guess who wrote Fly Me To The Moon? It was not frank sinatra!)
I guess it has to do with the ease of distribution. Back then the easiest way to sell music was on paper. Only in the last two, three decades has it become so easy to sell (and now rent out) the original material.
