I was in Iowa for our family Christmas celebration with my wife's family and saw this scene one morning when I was out for a walk. It had been pretty foggy in the area for a number of days, but on this particular morning, the fog was particularly dense. My family spent Thanksgiving week at a cabin about an hour from home. My son was down by the lake one afternoon and found this tiny shell on the beach. I thought I'd see if I could use my macro lens to make an interesting photo of it. Each year we take a photo of our kids to send with our Christmas letter to friends and family. This year, we're away from home, staying in a rental cabin. After this year's photo shoot with the kids, I found this lamp hanging near by and thought it looked interesting. Got out for my morning walk today before sunrise and saw that it was a little foggy. I cut my walk short and went home to grab my camera and headed to the golf course near my home. I was out trying to do some street photography for a few hours yesterday. I shot 543 frames and I didn't like 542 of them. This is the only one I liked. Not coincidentally, It was the one image with zero people in it. I think I've finally realized that I just need to stick to what I enjoy and what I do well and not keep trying to make decent photos containing people. #MastoArt #BlackAndWhite #photography
