is it still doomscrolling when there’s real doom out there or is it just regular scrolling
i don’t have the energy to put it together, but just imagine that screenshot of the dude from Airplane saying “guess I picked a bad week to stop sniffing glue” but like with the ‘stop sniffing glue’ replaced with ‘stop doomscrolling’
@erl: hey can I tell you something? @npub1q6j5...64ds: of course; you can tell me anything as long as you start it with “forgive me father, for I have sinned”
Used “we don’t know where they come from but we know how we grow” to transition from a slide about supermassive black hole origins to evolution and the only one in the audience to laugh was @npub1q6j5...64ds smh
Hey any east bay trans photographers out there wanna meet up? I'm thinking of starting a photo group / zine (shoutout to @npub1q6j5...64ds) centered around slice of life photography of the trans experience in the east bay. The idea is inspired by the group formed by Ansel Adams and friends, f/64 () which pushed back against pictorial photography of the 20s and instead aimed to embrace photography as a medium in its own right. Their work was frequently extremely political in its use of straight photography to reproduce a scene as they see it and understand it, rather than using it to build a pictorial image. In this sense, their photography acted as a testament to the way they saw the world, in all its problems: environmental, economic, bigoted; and aimed to lay those problems bare on their film F64.0 is the ICD-10 code for transexualism. In short, this project f/64.0 is a photographic depiction of trans life as we see it and as we experience it, during a period where our existences are politicized and used for purposes beyond ourselves. Just as f/64 used straight photography to ground their medium in its material realities and pull it back from pictorialism, f/64.0 does the same to root trans existence and pull it back from politicization.
Dreading the inevitable future where the original wizard of oz gets remade as part of the Wicked Cinematic Universe to moderate critical acclaim, but then a couple years later the lady cast as Dorothy goes down the transphobia rabbit hole and we have to retire “friend of Dorothy” as a euphemism for queer folks ugh
Genuinely cool that if you ever wanna see something on fire you can just drive around following firetrucks and they’ll bring ya to one
Daily reminder that the singular form of harmonica is actually harmonicum
It’s called the last SUPPER not the last DINNER which is undeniable proof that Jesus was a midwesterner
