-International Events-
1. Iran Suspends Cooperation With UN Nuclear Watchdog: Iran on Wednesday formally suspended its cooperation with the UN nuclear watchdog, a measure drawn up in the wake of unprecedented Israeli and US strikes on the Islamic republic's nuclear sites. Tehran has lambasted the UN agency for a resolution adopted on June 12 that accuses Iran of non-compliance with its nuclear obligations. Iranian officials said the resolution was among the "excuses" for the Israeli attacks. (IBTimes)
2. Trump says Israel has agreed to conditions for 60-day Gaza ceasefire: In a post on Truth Social, Trump said that during the proposed ceasefire the US would "work with all parties to end the War". He did not provide details on what the ceasefire would entail. "The Qataris and Egyptians, who have worked very hard to help bring Peace, will deliver this final proposal. I hope... that Hamas takes this Deal, because it will not get better — IT WILL ONLY GET WORSE," Trump wrote. (BBC)
3. US pauses some munitions shipments to Ukraine: The Trump administration is pausing some weapons shipments to Ukraine, including air defense missiles, following a review of military spending and American support to foreign countries. (CNN)
-US Events-
1. Vance casts tiebreaking vote after Republicans betray Trump's 'big, beautiful bill': After a record-breaking 27-hour voting marathon, the Senate narrowly passed Trump's "big, beautiful bill" in a 51-50 vote. Vice President JD Vance cast the tiebreaking vote after three Senate Republicans — Susan Collins of Maine, Thom Tillis of North Carolina, and Rand Paul of Kentucky — voted against the legislation. (TheBlaze)
2. Tesla stock price sinks as Musk and Trump feud over spending bill: he Tesla founder and CEO wrote on X that the bill would "destroy millions of jobs in America." He also suggested on Monday that, should the bill pass, he would form a new political party and support primary challenges against any Republicans who voted in favor of the legislation. President Trump clapped back early Tuesday, noting the enormous federal subsidies Musk's various companies receive from the government and suggesting that DOGE — which Musk led before stepping down late May — look into any spending flowing into Musk's empire. (CBS) (AC-Still feels manufactured.)
-Regulatory and Legal-
1. Arizona Governor Hobbs Vetoes Digital Asset Reserve Bill, Stalling State Crypto Agenda: HB 2324 sought to fund a state crypto reserve using assets seized in criminal cases. Gov. Katie Hobbs warned removing seized coins from local agencies could hinder joint investigations. (Blockonomi) (AC- Her 3rd veto against crypto and bitcoin. Obviously not a fan of it.)
2. Texas makes gold, silver legal tender following governor’s approval: Governor Greg Abbott signed a bill into law allowing Texas residents to use precious metals for “day-to-day financial transactions” starting in May 2027. (CoinTelegraph)
3. Bitcoin Tax Exemptions Don't Make It Into Trump's 'Big Beautiful Bill': The U.S. Senate narrowly passed President Donald Trump’s reconciliation bill without key tax amendments benefiting crypto users. Despite efforts by pro-crypto senators and industry leaders, the amendments were not included due to time constraints. (Decrypt)

-Institutional Concerns-
1. 250 businesses are holding BTC on their balance sheets: Some 26 companies added the asset to their balance sheet, bringing the total number of companies with Bitcoin in their treasuries up to 250. (CoinTelegraph) (AC-No other grounding facts are in the article's assertions, but cursory news searches confirm increased BTC treasuries over the last 6 months.)
2. Why On-Chain Metrics Miss the Full Picture of Institutional Bitcoin Buying: U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs saw nearly $4 billion | 37,111 BTC in inflows during the month, despite muted on-chain activity. Such transactions are structured to avoid public visibility, either taking place off-chain or ending up in wallets that don't move much. (Decrypt) (AC-The OTC market, mostly via Coinbase, is where all this action takes place, creating a type of bifurcated market for BTC. Unlike the silver market, this dual market will still be closely price correlated due to BTC's finite supply, but may diverge in the short term. The threat to true price discovery would come if Coinbase didn't maintain 1:1 custodies (rehypothecation).
-Economic Indicators-
1. US Mortgage Rates Lowest in Nearly 3 Months: The average contract interest rate for 30-year fixed-rate mortgages with conforming loan balances in the US fell by 9bps to 6.79% in the week ended June 27th. (TradingEconomics)
-Security Concerns-
1. Hackers Using PDFs to Impersonate Microsoft, DocuSign, and More in Callback Phishing Campaigns: "A significant portion of email threats with PDF payloads persuade victims to call adversary-controlled phone numbers, displaying another popular social engineering technique known as Telephone-Oriented Attack Delivery (TOAD), also known as callback phishing," n analysis of phishing emails with PDF attachments between May 5 and June 5, 2025, has revealed Microsoft and Docusign to be the most impersonated brands. NortonLifeLock, PayPal, and Geek Squad are among the most impersonated brands in TOAD emails with PDF attachments. (TechTimes) (AC-A simple look through your junk email filters will reveal a number of these phishing attempts. Don't fall for it.)
-Technology and Science-
1. Amazon's Robots Are About to Outnumber Its 1.1 Million Warehouse Workers: The Seattle giant recently said that more than one million robots now operate in its worldwide fulfillment center network, moving ever closer to eclipsing its 1.1 million human warehousing workers. Amazon's robots perform backbreaking work like lifting, sorting, and stowing—tasks that are physically demanding and can be repetitive or risky for human labor. The machines, in Amazon's view, are meant to augment the workforce and not displace it. (TechTimes)
-Bitcoin Community-
1. Wallet of Satoshi Launches Self-Custodial Lightning Wallet on Spark, Returns to the US Market: After leaving the U.S. market in 2023, Wallet of Satoshi aims to re-enter the market with this new self-custodial feature, which seeks to overcome previous limitations related to liquidity and channel management, providing a seamless experience for users. The private beta version is now available, inviting interested users to participate in the testing phase. (BitcoinCom)
2. Bitcoin holder unlocks $10 million | 93.07 BTC from rare Casascius bar bought for $500 | 465,367 sats: A long-time Bitcoin holder has finally cracked open one of the rarest physical Bitcoin collectibles in existence—a Casascius bar loaded with 100 BTC. The collector, who goes by the name John Galt on the Bitcoin Talk forum, originally bought the bar in 2012 for just $500. 13 years later, he redeemed it when the top crypto crossed the $100,000 mark, unlocking a fortune now worth over $10 million. In effect, he saw a return of nearly 2,000,000% on his modest 2012 investment. (CryptoSlate)
