Somebody just asked on /r/bitcoin: Is coinbase good to have my bitcoin investment in? Is it safe for long term holding? Of course I'm thinking: self custody! But then I'm thinking, you know, maybe he's not ready for that. If he asks questions like that, maybe having total control with no safety net is actually not very safe and maybe coinnase is safer for him. This especially when somebody said cold storage is better than hot and the OP asked what's the difference? #bitcoin #plebchain
Since the HBO documentary came out last night, I'll score my prediction from last week: . Usual suspects: C (Peter Todd isn't too often mentioned, but he's mentioned) . Old doc as evidence: C- (the forum post is not new, but the asterisk thing is an obscure angle...really reaching in my view) . No tx signed: A (this was an obvious one) . Sci-fi author: F (though that would have made a much better story) Overall grade: C- Hey, that's passing. #bitcoin #plebchain
Didn't see this coming...HBO show claims Peter Todd is #Satoshi. The main bit of evidence apparently: he edited out some asterisks in a bitcointalk post. https://www.cnn.com/2024/10/08/investing/satoshi-nakamoto-identity/index.html #bitcoin
I don't like hurricanes.
People are betting on who HBO will name as the supposed Satoshi. I find it weird that such a possibly human-manipulated "bet" could be or should be on the books. News flash: those people who made the documentary know who is named as Satoshi. No doubt many people were involved in filming, editing, producing, etc. I'm sure they had to agree to an NDA, but if enough money is up for grabs, you don't think somebody is going to quietly nudge their buddy in the right direction to bet on? #bitcoin #plebchain
Maybe a little slow, but progress.
Somebody on Stacker News asked "Do most lay people know who Satoshi is lol" yesterday. Today, I did a poll. The results are in. image Full story at #bitcoin #plebchain #satoshi
