Many Presidents have been dumb enough to go to war. But to first force NATO countries to invest considerably more in their militaries before you choose to go to war with NATO, requires a Trump level of stupidity.

I am reading up on Russian history and how President Mikhail Gorbachev bravely fought alcoholism in Russian society in the late 1980s, which lead to a decline in mortality… but… sadly created a major dent in the state budget, because Gorbachev had forgotten that selling alcohol was a major source of state revenue.
