I guess the thing I realized a few years ago is that it's both more important and just harder to think and write about networks when all the network stuff is so entangled in the global authoritarian slide. I wish I could think faster, but it's even harder now, trying to work on so many fronts.
I think when every sector puts junior workers through a decade+ of professionalization into the norm that ethical qualms are either nice-to-haves or active disloyalties, what you get are institutions that collapse in a brisk breeze🤷🏻 RE:

I saw someone argue here yesterday that it’s reasonable for people to unsubscribe to news publications because the Trump administration *might find out and persecute them for reading things it doesn’t like* and…I am haunted. Idk if it was a real person or an op but it seems like a problem.
