I recognize chrome, youtube and maps. But I only use maps and YouTube.
I tried open street maps for a while, as well as several youtube alternatives... but I tend to go back to the Google versions.
When the alternatives improve, even slightly from their current state, I will be glad to say I am 💯 Google free.
1. BTC. Okay this one I get but the convenience of GPay for my RedotPay makes it a little bit hard to migrate
2. OpenStreetMap. Okay this is new, but you can't login with nsec?
3. There's Nostr client like YouTube?
4. Photos. Same like no. 1 but I don't have the hardware and capacity for local backup. I get it but not suitable time for me to migrate.
Thanks for the answer brother. ✌️
1. Yeah, local fiat conversion issues play into this but that's just stages of moving more of you personal economizing onto bitcoin. Personally I'm trying to use btc for everything I purchase online (even bill-pay). Still use a little hard cash for day to day but that is decreasing.
2. Doesn't need login. It is FOSS and I think there's a nostr client. Saw one ages ago so would have to go digging.
3. Olas has a reels feed. Issue with video is more on the hosting side from my understanding as most clients render video fine.
4. Understood. That's what makes free cloud options appealing. Real solution is running a home server (I'm not there myself yet).
