I think the U.S government looks at itself as a gun pointed at the world and we the people and our hard work and money are the bullets being used by them rather than them looking at itself as a unit to do what's best for its own country and it's people.

Yes, its obviously true.
Its winding down as the BRICS+ nations challenge US hegemony.
Of course the U.S funded media is pushing out only points that makes BRICS look like it's failing but if you do some simple translation of Russian, Brazilian etc local articles you'll see a different picture.
