I quit working as a helicopter pilot for a HAA (helicopter air ambulance) company. My wage was $51.00 / hour. When they ask what I needed to stay I said $225.00 / hour. The director of operations nearly fell off his chair. Then I told him this: minimum wage in 1971 was $1.60 / hour and gold was $37.00 an oz. When I asked for $225.00, gold was $3,700 an oz putting inflation adjusted minimum wage at $160.00 / hours. With my helicopter experience, I figured my wages should be $160.00 / hour + an additional $65.00. He told me to get lost and had no clue what I was talking about
Now image if everyone did this and just walked away.
