Two thoughts on this:
1. We need to get out of the mindset of βbuilding nostr appsβ. We simply need to build great products that people want to use, and Nostr will be the underlying protocol. So totally agree with Jack on this.
2. In the long run, we will absolutely displace X and other closed platforms. It will be a grind, but we will wrestle away the network effects from gradually, then suddenly.

Recently read about clean UX & that hit
What products are you talking about if they're not apps? Actually just apps, right? Waste of time reading this
One of those products will be Web of Trust Service Providers, which calculate metrics that are personalized and portable. Portable means scores are calculated independently of clients, then communicated to clients using standardized methods like @Vitor Pamplona's NIP-85: Trusted Assertions.
Several clients are already in the early stages of using TAs to integrate βTrust Scoresβ ranging from 0 to 100 that are calculated independently of the client. @Amethyst will be demo-ing this feature soon. I look forward to the day when @primal does the same! π
The main goal of the @nosfabrica 50 million sats #wotathon is to foster an ecosystem of WoT Service Providers like Brainstorm, Vertex, Relatr. What role can Primal take? Two options: 1) import metrics from an independent WoT SP; or: 2) build a Primal WoT Service Provider from scratch! Then use those scores internally AND make them available to use on other clients. Either of those options would be awesome, I think.

So much untapped potential in non-social media apps and services.
Supply chain management for example. People are sleeping on this protocol.
I think we need more focus on the UX of Nostr as an ecosystem. There are a ton of exciting apps, but they're all non-starters at scale until we solve for things like onboarding and seamless federation
Don't forget RUNSTR for running.

Absolutely! Focusing on building products people love is the key. With persistence and vision, Nostr will naturally shine, and the shift from closed platforms will come, slowly, then all at once. Exciting times ahead!
seems about right .
Nostr = base layer. FOSS services + products = layer 2
