We’re number one!.. hundred and two.. Congrats #AUStriches, our economic policy of Houses, Holes, and Handicapped has dropped us 9 places in the economic complexity rankings now between Senegal and fucking Yemen. No offence to the Yemenis, I love the Houthis harassment of the US Navy, but that country has had serious problems for a long long time and we’ve only just pipped them in the rankings here. Now behind IMF Slave State Bangladesh where your tshirts are made for peanuts. And heavyweights like Benin and Burkina Faso known economically for absolutely nothing other than being poor. This country is a fucking joke. Completely squandered massive wealth so some parasites could get rich and help out their mates who put them in power. Yay for democracy! 102 😕 View quoted note →

Of course. Just look at Australia’s energy policy- a masterclass in poor planning driven by political pandering. It seems focus groups fixated on “saving the environment” are steering the ship, but where’s the strategy to balance sustainability with being a productive, innovative nation? I.e. have a robust and complex economy. Sure, we all want to protect the planet—but not at the cost of destroying our competitiveness and ingenuity. Relying on solar and wind alone is foolish without a reliable baseload energy source. With no real plan for nuclear or gas, and insufficient hydro capacity, we’re committing to a $3 trillion energy grid overhaul that will deliver the most expensive and unreliable electricity on earth. Instead of fostering invention and problem-solving, we’re stuck with ideological moves made by a pack of halfwits and lemmings that makes our country less productive, less innovative, and far from a leader in tackling real-world challenges.
Australia’s complete fuckup of energy is my number one concern for the country. Considering all the shit that’s going on; Digital ID, KYCing social media, eKaren and Misinfo legislation, taxing unrealised gains on super, the failed referendum and bullshit treaties, #HousingPonzi, restricting access to Bitcoin, the NDIS sending us broke and accounting for 1/3 of new jobs, 1/9 ppl in the country being immigrants, on and on and on.. All of that is terrible, but Energy policy is the thing that will destroy this country more than anything else. It’s going to be a fucking disaster completely unimaginable to the people here, and there is absolutely no reason for it other than the parasites are all ideological retards who shouldn’t have power over anything but they want to feel good about looting the coffers.
