Correct. Zap stream used to have this feature but removed for some reason 🤔

Ok great. It is very doable. The thing that is missing is simply publishing a Nostr event of kind 30311 which includes the details of the stream, especially the HLS URL (ends in m3u8). With that, any Nostr streaming website or app including Shosho will pick up and show the stream.
This is already how the Shosho app works - you can add your own server and then when you stream to it the app will publish the 30311 for your stream.
When you stream to your owncast, what do you stream from? Are you using OBS or something else?
I have OBS connected to a owncast server that I set up on a Raspberry Pi.
I read you need to set up a reverse proxy and set up HTTPS in order to have your stream embedded on other sites. I will give this a try tonight! I didnt see a spot on shosho site to put in this info lol
Yes, you will need a way for external internet traffic to reach your Pi.
There is no interface to publish 30311 on the shosho live website yet, but that's how the streams get there, it's that someone published a 30311.
I can make a tool to help. In the meantime you can already publish that many other ways too if you like, e.g. with Nostrudel events tools, or NAK, etc
Thank you. Ill try nostrudel and see if I can figure it out lol
