Yes, we need a hero, not an anti hero. OP is an anti hero, like Hancock. Hancock didn't actually give a fuck about all the collateral damage he caused. Likewise, OP chose to use vicious vocabulary that was in no way germane to the situation(s) being referenced. Why do all gay men deserve to have shade thrown upon them? Not only did OP not contribute to the solution, OP created more collateral damage. Very anti hero move.
Equivocation is a logical fallacy. Lazy vocabulary choices cause an uptick in suicide rates for a group that consists of hundreds of millions of people. Those hundreds of millions of people have loved ones who care about them. They have friends, family, jobs, neighbors, etc. who will miss them when they voluntarily "check out" because of the pressure that lazy vocabulary choices put upon them. Speak more precisely and abide the Golden Rule.
I think that movie is a good example though. 🍿 Anti-heros can become heroes when they realize their power. Some folks are doofuses about language, and not as fastidious about language as you. But controversy trends and those types of conversations elevate your voice too. And I think it's good that more people hear your voice. I won't fight you Red, you could run circles around me in terms of logical debate and endurance for conflict 🫣
"Don't be one, don't get called one." Most people with what we call "mental illness" are just pussies, that were raised by pussies. Words are not violence and I won't abide such nonsense. I very rarely resort to personal insults and try to debate things calmly and rationally. This post was not a debate nor did I call anyone out specifically. I'm just one retard with free speech and an npub posting notes to the void. I appreciate that you generally post uplifting and thought provoking things but that's not my purpose here.
This is exactly what I'm talking about. I'm so sorry you experienced that loss for that reason. My brother didn't commit suicide but he was gay. I've also experienced a few suicides. Even helped clean one up after police and medical examiners left so the widow wouldn't have to. I'm just tired of the virtue signalers masquerading as pious while they contribute to the pain experienced by many who lost a loved one in exactly that way. WWJD...not that.
The person I mentioned who committed suicide very specifically did it because of the violence he encountered. He was pretty liberal with his speech and I grew up calling him those types of words just because he thought it was funny. He also regularly called me a lil bitch when I was 7, to be fair I was one πŸ’…πŸ˜…πŸ€£ I try to mind my language more now, because I'm doing a lot of work on myself to be more conscience. But sometimes I get in a salty mood and say salty things. I certainly wasn't interpreting your original post as that, but it is nice of you to clarify here. Some people talk rough but aren't being rough and that's ok because free speech means sounding like an asshole sometimes. GFY πŸ«‚πŸ€£
Just saying, Jesus wouldn't talk like that and you know it. Go read the Jefferson Bible. It cuts out all the other stuff except for Jesus's direct words. Jesus spoke of John as Elijah reincarnated yet, because some dudes in fancy robes and hats that never walked the Earth with Jesus who lived 300 years after Jesus said some shit, now that's "canonical". You know that "canonical" is a synonym of "fiat", right? Reincarnation is real. There's tons of scientific study that has been done on the subject. Closed minded dogmatists would never research this though because dogmatists already "know" the "truth". They just don't realize that every reincarnation comes with some amount of momentum that carries over from the last life. It's in all the case studies. People maintain anomalous flavor palettes from the previous life, behavioral patterns, sense of social status, relationships, etc. This includes cases that do or do not involve a gender switch. According to the University of Virginia's extensive research on the subject, roughly 10% of their case studies involved a gender switch between lives. A poll of roughly 30 nations found that 9% of people identify as L, G, B, or T. That's not a coincidence. That's momentum carrying over from the previous incarnation as the opposite gender. You are again throwing shade on a huge portion of the population who would be far healthier if they understood this, but, due to charlatan dogmatists masquerading as pious, they are made to feel somehow "less than". How Christ-like of you to contribute to that. You're so pious. Now you're resorting to throwing women under the bus by derogatorily using the word "pussies". You're a piece of work man. You need Jesus because you certainly don't have Jesus. Words are not violence but words can lead to self-harm. You will be horrified when you go through your life review after death and you see the domino effects of your rhetorical laziness.
Yeah, I used to use foul language like that too when I was a child. At a certain point I made the choice to stop contributing to that dynamic. I'm glad and not surprised that you made the same choice. I get salty plenty too. I'm just unwilling to contribute to huge amounts of pain experienced by hundreds of millions of people worldwide as a consequence of my rhetorical laziness.
I agree, however when those two things come into conflict, I'm more interested in protecting the people who are victims of the collateral damage than I am interested in protecting the egos of those who caused the collateral damage. No one can "unring" the bell which means the only way to protect them is to encourage a world where the bell gets rung less and less frequently.
All interaction influences people directly and indirectly, so I'm not buying that, even if you believe that to be the case. Your interactions do influence others whether that is your intended purpose or not. Precisely stating problems not only eliminates wide sweeping psychological collateral damage done to huge portions of the population, it also encourages solving the actual problem being highlighted. You're a fan of math-based money. You're a fan of math-based social media protocols. I would prefer it if everyone chose to adopt the precision of mathematical expression. I would prefer that everyone stop being rhetorically lazy.
